70 Acre Brew Co.

Where Two Crafts Meet

KEEN bottled 70 Acre’s community spirit and pride in their heritage into a fresh new brand including a custom font as unique as their story.

The Project

As an up-and-coming brewery, 70 Acre Brew Co. was looking for ideas to tell their brand story while honouring their strong community ties. By crafting an authentic brand as a foundation, we were able to keep 70 Acre’s can labels and website in touch with their roots, and let the community be a part of Sherwood Park’s first micro brewery.

70 Acre Brew Co. came to us to help put their beverages in the hands of more Albertans, both through increasing presence in local liquor stores, and by bringing people in to visit their 100-seat taproom. Kicking the project off with an in depth discovery session, KEEN was able to determine key attributes, personas, and needs of the brand. Working collaboratively with the 70 Acre team, KEEN refined the chosen concept into a polished and consistent brand, and began translating the story across multiple mediums. This included designing can labels that captured the essence of 70 Acre and giving each beverage its own voice, while being distinct enough to stand out in Alberta’s bustling beer market. In order to enhance 70 Acre’s visual storytelling, KEEN provided photography services of beverage products, menu items, and the 70 Acre brewery. KEEN also produced a video that illustrated the brew company’s relationship with their community, tracing all the way back to the family’s first 70 acres of land. 70 Acre Brew Co. needed an online presence to showcase the company’s history, lifestyle, beer, menu, location, and merch. KEEN built a responsive, modern, functional website around the brand identity, and upon publishing the first round of content, set 70 Acre up with training and all the information they needed to manage their site content.
